Extensometers for Mechanical Testing <---
Axial Extensometers Model 3542
General purpose strain gauges for axial traction, compression, and cyclic testing.
The gage lengths are 0.5 to 2 inches (10 to 80 mm) and measuring ranges from 5% to 100% strain. These extensometers are designed to test a wide range of materials including: metals, plastics, composites, and ceramics. All of this will work in both tension and compression.
The double flex design makes it very resistant and insensitive to vibrations, allowing higher operating frequency. The quick coupling kit can be removed, allowing mounting of the extensometer with springs or elastic bands.
The Model 3542 extensometers are tension-assured devices, which makes them compatible with any electronic device designed for strain transducers. They are often connected to a controller of a testing machine.
Signal conditioning electronics for the extensometer are typically included with the testing machine controller or can often be added. In this case, the extensometer is supplied with the appropriate connector and wiring to connect directly to the electronics.
For systems that lack the necessary electronic components, Epsilon can provide a variety of solutions, allowing the extensometer to have an outlet to be connected to data acquisition cards, chart recorders, or other equipment.
