TENSILSHEAR
Grinding Machine for Preparation of Flat Tensile Specimens
A test specimen is the most important component of physical testing, for it determines the actual physical properties of the material being tested. The specimen must conform to exacting physical dimensions and must be free of induced cold working or heat distortion.
Before preparing the sample, a strip must usually be taken from a larger piece of material; the Tensilshear is an easy tool for removal of a blank from such material.
Tensilshear is a compact, rugged hand shear designed to rapidly cut straight strips from light foil, up to 1/16” sheet steel, up to 1/8” aluminum, or up to 3/16” plastic for insertion into Master Templates for use on the Tensilkut I or Tensilkut II, or to be clamped on the moving table for preparation on the CNC Tensilkut III.
-
Tensilshear’s hardened, precision ground blades are adjustable, to eliminate virtually all edge burring problems.
-
The inclined ram shearing action and material hold down bar achieve flat, non-distorted strips.
-
A set of micrometer width gauges installed on the Tensilshear permits more accurate strip widths.
The Tensilshear is also excellent for other laboratory applications, such as preparing blanks for paint, corrosion or other tests.
