All AJT testing machines are designed and manufactured to customer specifications specifically for simple test loads, destruction, cyclic and long load test periods of all types of materials (clamping jaws optional).

Usage and operator safety are always at the forefront of any AJT design, ensuring our compliance with relevant machinery directives and standards:

  • The machine can be supplied with manually or hydraulically operated safety covers, incorporating coded magnetic interlock switches. This ensures that the machine is in safe condition when operators are preparing it for testing.

  • The horizontal tensile testing machine model has proven to be the most popular design for our customers.

  • It offers the ability to perform proof load testing, destruction testing, and long-term cyclical testing of samples in a multitude of industries. Using a modular construction, the machine can be manufactured to any required length and extended at a later date if necessary.

  • A rolling cart is included to offer the advantage of multiple test lengths along the entire length of the machine.

  • The operator control system can be simple manual, PLC or fully PC controlled, each with the option of additional data capture for verification / certification of your product.

  • All AJT testing machines are equipped with our own self-made load cell mounted on the traction fork, with a multi-bridge strain gauge, temperature compensation and closed zero balance calibrated in accordance with ISO 7500-1: 2004.

  • AJT has supplied machines of this type with capacities ranging from 5 tons (11,000 Lbs) to 2,000 tons (4,400,000 Lbs) of force.

Designed specifically for simple proof load testing of wire chains, ropes, etc.

 

 

Straining Unit:

  • Long stroke hydraulic cylinder with double acting ram.
  • Piston head and cylinder ends fitted with low friction seals.
  • Pulling ram terminates in a fixed clevis jaw, with a similar arrangement on the moving carriage.

 

Load Control Console:

  • Digital monitor with 20mm high character readout connected to load cell by means of multi-core screened cable.
  • Peak freeze provision facility for capturing maximum applied load with reset.
  • Pressure Control is achieved by means of a control valve at the operators position.
  • PUMP START push button and STOP button.
  • Optional Data Acquisition Facility showing load and extension.

 

Load Cell:

  • Located between the pulling clevis and pull ram and strain gauge tensile load features a multi bridge with temperature compensation and close zero balance.
  • Calibrated in accordance with International Standard ISO 7500-1: 2004

 

Power Pack:

  • Features a flanged motor close coupled to a single pump
  • Filtration provided includes suction line strainer and tank top filler/breather

 

Test Bed

  • Main frame compressing of steel section side frames cross braced and featuring location points for moving carriage at incremental positions along the bed.
  • The machine is supplied with the group anchor fixing holes incorporated for 'Thor-bolts', which are recommended in order to prevent 'tramping'.
  • An adjustable carriage is provided supported on free moving rollers for easy placement of the carriage appropriate to the nominal test specimen length.
  • Machine is fully guarded by fixed plates at base of bed and manually operated, hinged guards at top of bed section.
