VULCAN - LIBS Analyzer
One of the fastest metal analyzers in the world
It helps you control quality, verify large inventories, and prevent material mix-ups that can have serious consequences. It is an ideal tool for achieving 100% PMI.
Vulcan allows you to identify and analyze a wide range of alloys. It delivers results for all common alloys, including aluminum, magnesium, titanium, cobalt, chromium, nickel, and copper alloys, as well as stainless steels, low-alloy steels, and more.
🔹 General Description
The Vulcan is a portable analyzer based on LIBS (Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy), manufactured by Hitachi High-Tech Analytical Science.
It is one of the fastest metal analyzers in the world, ideal for quality control, Positive Material Identification (PMI), and metal inventory verification.
It weighs only 1.5 kg, features an ergonomic design, and delivers results in 1 second, even for aluminum alloys, where it can be up to 10 times faster than an XRF analyzer. When used for extended periods, it remains comfortable and easy to operate.
🔧 Key Advantages
- Fast, accurate, and portable
No ionizing radiation (unlike XRF)
Designed for intensive industrial use
One-hand operation with intuitive touchscreen
Low maintenance and high operational uptime
🏭 Applications
- Quality control (QA/QC)
Positive Material Identification (PMI)
Metal grade verification in warehouses
Metal scrap sorting
Field and production analysis
