GasStream - Cooling Inspection Systems

Falcon has submitted its latest proposal directly to Brussels under the Horizon 2020 Fast Track to Innovation (FTI) program, in a consortium with Nemak Wernigerode GmbH and SST Sensing Ltd.

 

GasStream is a gas-flow-based technology that continuously monitors the functionality of hidden channels in each product directly on the production line, in a cost-effective way, without slowing down manufacturing. This enables more effective detection and filtering of partially or completely blocked channels in cast components such as cooling systems, cylinder heads, and engine blocks.

 

The system is designed to provide real-time process feedback, allowing manufacturers to identify internal flow restrictions that are not visible through conventional inspection methods. By integrating into production environments, GasStream supports early defect detection, reduces scrap rates, and improves overall process reliability.

 

In addition, the technology helps optimize quality control strategies for complex castings by ensuring that internal geometries meet design specifications before parts proceed to assembly or final use.
