There are three types of pendulum impact tests; Izod, Charpy and Tensile Impact. The first two are the most common. As a practical guideline, Izod tests are most used in low energy applications for plastics and non-metallic materials, whereas Charpy tests are usually seen in high energy tests in metallic materials.

Pendulum Impact Tester for plastics 2J - 50J

Hoytom's benchtop impact pendulum is designed to perform tests on plastics and composites according to Charpy or Izod standards. It is available in capacities from 2 to 50J. It is operated from a touch screen that is simple and intuitive to use. Its octagonal protection has a polycarbonate door, which complies with the CE marking and the EN ISO 13802 standard.

The Hoytom HyTT impact pendulum is designed to perform tests on metals according to Charpy or Izod standards. It is available in capacities from 300 to 750J. It performs tests automatically, and is operated from a touch screen that is simple and intuitive to use. Its protection has a sliding polycarbonate door with electric interlock, which complies with the CE marking and the ISO 13849 standard.
